The popular, and somewhat bizarre, brewery in Colorado is moving production to another state.
Flying Dog Brewery in Colorado is flying out of the state. Starting next month, the Colorado brewer will be a Maryland brewer. They are moving their production to the former Wild Goose Brewery in Frederick, Maryland, which Flying Dog acquired in 2006 for $1.4 million USD.

The brewer says that they needed to move to Maryland to make their business more efficient. Rises in hops and malts prices are requiring the company to look for areas to save money in their production costs. According to CityRating.com, the cost of living in Maryland is lower than it is in Denver.
The move to Maryland will relocate about 10 production jobs. Accounting, marketing, and sales positions will remain in Colorado. About 70% of the brewery’s production is already in Frederick, Maryland.
The company plans to brew 50,000 barrels of beer this year, a 20% increase over last year.
