One way to discover new beers or wines is to join a club. For example, Clubs of America has a beer of the month club , a wine of the month club , and even a cigar of the month club ! These membership clubs send you different items each month, and let you sample different beers, wines and cigars that you might not find locally.

Each “club” will allow you to select the duration of your membership. You can select anything between a 1 to 12 month subscription, or an “ongoing until I cancel” membership. That’s a perfect setup if you want to try it for a few months.

The beer of the month club contains a 12 pack of 4 different beers from microbreweries across the United States. Some of the beer names were familiar brands from microbrews in my area, like Great Divide’s Denver Pale Ale, but there were many others I haven’t tried yet. That makes it great for trying new beers! It also makes it easier to find rare beers that might not be sold in your area.

The wine of the month club is great because you get to pick if you want one red and one white, or two of the same type. Personally I’d prefer two red wines, but it is really cool that they give you the choice. Everyone wants something different. Unlike the beers, the wines come from small wineries all over the world. If you don’t quite know wines well, this is a great way to try different wines to find ones that you like.

The cigar of the month club sends you 5 cigars each month from places around the world. Sorry, no Cubans. They send the cigars individually wrapped, and then placed in another zip lock bag to make sure that they arrive at your door fresh.

In all cases, once you find your favorites, you can order more at a discounted price. So if you are looking for a good easy way to experiment, try a beer, wine or cigar club (which ever you prefer). You should also keep it in mind for quick and easy gifts for birthdays or holidays.
