Lynne Rice, a 74-year-old California woman literally converted a local convenience store into a drive-through liquor store (insert your favorite female driver joke here).
Rice drove her 1988 Cadillac (insert old person driving a Caddy joke here) through the windows of the quickie mart. You’ll often read a story about old people driving through something (buildings, pools, fences, kids, etc…) but what causes this woman to make the beer nuts list is what she did next.
She got out of her wrecked car, walked to the beverage cooler, grabbed a 6-pack of Budweiser (of course) and tried to buy the beer. Much like many of my early underage beer purchases, the cashier refused the sale and called the police instead.
No one was hurt in the Cadillac beer breach, but the woman was taken to the hospital because of a pre-existing condition. Does “drunk” count as a pre-existing condition? She was charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
