A Italian wine that advertises great aromas of cherries and raisins. Does it hold it's promise?
The Bolla Valpolicella is an Italian wine that we picked up on a whim. We were looking for something different, and wanted something Italian. This wine was about $17 USD dollars a bottle.
Bolla Valpolicella
The wine had a good, deep, very dark red color. The aroma of the wine has hints of raisins. We were disappointed that there weren’t more aromas.
The flavor of the wine was very grapey. It has a slight hint of cherry, but not nearly as strong as their label indicates. It was a bit alcoholic and had a slow strong burn as it went down. The wine was also a bit thinner than we were hoping. It didn’t taste watery, but it felt watery in the mouth.
