This pub is NOT for the birds
Pub tales — By DJ Spiess on July 29, 2007 at 12:01 amCarling the crow, a pub regular who was known to sneak sips from patrons’ lagers when they were not looking, is no longer welcome at its favorite pub in Neath, South Wales. For a time the purloined drinks were considered humorous, but for this crow, nevermore.
The manager of the David Protheroe pub, Sarah Wyatt, has warned all customers to scare the bird off after bird experts pointed out that the crow is a carrion crow. For some people it is fun to see animals get drunk, but no one wants road kill back wash from a critter that might have just returned from a dead rat feast.
