Review: Schloss Lieser Riesling 2003
Wine reviews — By DJ Spiess on October 30, 2007 at 8:15 pmI was visiting a very nice wine store called Tenacity Wine Shop in Longmont, Colorado, when I stumbled upon this wine. The German Riesling wine was about $15 USD. I picked it because it was one of the few Riesling offerings that was actually from Germany.
The color of the wine is a very light straw color. The wine is very clear and almost sparkles. The aromas of the wine are very fruity, like pineapple or grapefruit.
The flavor of this wine was quite a surprise. It is very light and sweet, just short of being a dessert wine. If you do not like sweet wines, then this wine is not for you. It’s not sweet like an ice wine; it is sweet more like Asti Spumante. This wine would go great with a light salad or fruit. The mouth feel is like a light honey wine. The Riesling is only about 9% alcohol, so it makes a great summer wine.
I highly recommend this wine if you like light sweet wine, and give it 10 out of 10.
