Are you and your buddies staying in to drink tonight, but still want to have some fun? Get a deck of cards and play kings. This game is sure to get the good times rolling in no time.

What do you need:

1. One large cup
2. One deck of cards
3. Beer…lots and lots of beer

Instructions:
Place large cup in the middle of the table. Shuffle and scatter cards, face down, in a circle around the cup. Each drink is the equivalent of a normal sip/gulp.

How to play:
Each player chooses a card and must do the action which corresponds with the chosen card (see below). If you choose a card which breaks the circle, you must drink; this will happen numerous times throughout the game.  Left is law, so turns are taken clockwise.

Aces: “Waterfall”- Everyone starts drinking at the same time. Once the person who picked the card stops drinking, the person to their left can then stop. The third person can stop after the second and so forth. If a person stops out of turn, they must drink extra.

Two: “Here’s to you”- The person who picks the card chooses someone else take a drink of their beer.

Three: “Here’s to me”- The person who picked the card must take a drink of their beer.

Four: “Whores”- Sorry ladies, but this one is for you

Five: “Rules”- A rule is made by the person who picked this card and it must be followed until the next five is picked.

Six: “Dicks”- Guys it is your turn…drinks up!

Seven: “Social”- Everyone takes a drink

Eight: “Don’t be late”- Without saying anything, everyone puts their thumb on the table. Last to catch on must drink.

Nine: “Rhyme”- The card chooser picks a word or sentence. The person to the left must say something that rhymes, followed by the next person, and so forth. Whoever can not think of a word/sentence, or says a make believe word, drinks their beer.

Ten: “Categories”- The person who chose the card picks a category (teams, beer names, actors, etc) Going in a circle, each person names something from the category until a person can not name anything else, or names incorrectly. This person must then drink.

Jack: “Go Back”- The person must repeat whatever the person before them did.

Queen: “Questions”- Going in a circle, each person must ask the next person a question, without answering the question being asked that person asks the next, and so forth. Whoever mistakenly answers the question or can’t think of another question must drink.

King: The first, second, and third king picked must pour as much of their own beer as they see fit into the large cup in the middle of the table. The person who picks the FOURTH king must drink the entire cup in the middle of the table in the allotted amount of time.  This is the end of the game.

Variations:
Two-six: The number chosen is the amount of seconds you must drink. Also, you can play according to black (give away your drinks) and red (drink your own) rules.

Eight: “Pick a date”- The person can pick another to drink with them.

Or make up your own variations to ensure a great night of drinking and games with your friends.

Beer Pong, also known as Beirut, involves ten cups filled halfway with beer, two teams of two, one long table and two ping pong balls. Each of the two two-player teams stand at opposing ends, one on each side of a table, with their ten cups arranged in a triangle in front of them. The order of play varies – both players on one team shoot, then both players on the other team (you can vary the players on opposite teams to mix things up). Players “lob” a ping pong ball across a table with the intent of landing the ball in one of their opponent’s cups of beer on the other end. When a ball lands in a cup, the defending team must consume that cup’s beer and remove the cup from the game. The game is won by eliminating all the other team’s cups before one’s own cups are eliminated. The losing team must then consume all the beer remaining in the winning team’s cups.

Beer pong is a great way to blow off steam - just don't over do it!

Number of cups can vary between six, ten, or 15, and number of players can vary from one to five, but two is common (and easier). Also, some play defense by knocking the balls away from their cups using their hands, but while it is a game winning tactic, it drags the game out longer than needed and keeps others waiting longer if they want to play too. Besides, after a couple of rounds, trying to just lob the ball into the cup itself is a major challenge.  The game is also often played with ping pong paddles, as seen in the movie Beerfest.

I personally have attended countless Beer Pong tournaments in the basements of friends’ homes, so I can say without a doubt that if you play to have fun, in good spirits, you will have a blast. NO BITTER COMPETITORS!!!

Weekend after weekend you and your buddies sit around doing the same routine; picking up a case of beer, sitting around playing the same card games and telling the same jokes just like previous weekends. This weekend mix it up a little. How about playing a round of golf…pub golf. All you need is a few bars (within walking distance of each other) a group of people looking for a good time, and a reliable designated driver.

Before going out

1. Get a group of friends together. If you are really ambitious, get dressed up in your golfing attire and bring along a few props to complete the feeling.
2. Set a course of 9 (or 18 bars if you are crazy) you plan on attending- all within walking distance. Your downtown partying destination would be an ideal place.
3. Make a list of drinks and assign par, a REALISTIC number of strokes (sips/gulps) for each drink. For example, a pint of beer would have a par of six sips/gulps, a shot would be one, and a Jack/Coke short would have a par of four. Be sure to include a variety; beer, wine, shots, cider, champagne, and mixed drinks.

While out

1. Start at your first hole (bar). Everyone orders the same drink and pairs up to ensure no cheating. As with regular golf, the idea is to get under, par or as close to at each bar. For instance, at hole one everyone orders a long island iced tea, the par is six, so each player should finish their beverage in as close to six sips/gulps as possible. Those who complete the task in less get a lower score and those who take more get a higher score. The winner is the player with the lowest score at the end of the night.
2. Certain times should be allowed for bathroom breaks. If a player takes an unassigned bathroom break, penalty strokes may be added to their score. Also, break the game into two parts. After nine holes take a break before continuing on with the second part.
3. Make sure you eat food as you go and take breaks in between.  Food does not count against you.
4. Most importantly, have fun, be safe, and do not drink and drive.

Pub golf is the perfect activity for bachelor or bachelorette parties, or a change from your mundane weekends. Tweak the rules for you and your friends in order to guarantee a fun-filled night of drinking.  Remember, do NOT drink and drive!
